Artes Visuais Visual Arts
O programa de Artes Visuais do BDMG Cultural está vinculado às origens do Instituto e se renovou ao longo dos anos em uma perspectiva cada vez mais contemporânea e abrangente.
Os projetos, as exposições e os conteúdos realizados nesse campo buscam explorar diferentes linguagens artísticas, apoiar artistas no desenvolvimento de suas pesquisas e carreiras e incentivar a construção de um pensamento multidisciplinar e a problematização em torno das questões relativas a arte e à contemporaneidade.
Ao compartilharmos nossos projetos com o público, entendemos também que arte é conhecimento, tem caráter criativo e inovador, e possibilita abrir novas perspectivas para que o indivíduo tenha uma melhor compreensão do mundo.
Para isso, lançamos anualmente o edital “Mostras BDMG Cultural”, em que artistas mineiros ou residentes no Estado são convidados a enviar propostas nas mais diversas linguagens artísticas para a ocupação da Galeria BDMG Cultural, em Belo Horizonte. As mostras geram catálogos e ações educativas que ampliam seu diálogo com o público.
A partir da incorporação de obras dos artistas que se apresentaram nas mostras, ao longo dos anos, o BDMG Cultural constituiu um acervo artístico eclético, mas importante para entendimento dos percursos da arte contemporânea mineira. É possível acessa-lo virtualmente e conhecer um pouco mais sobre os artistas, as linguagens e as materialidades que o compõem.
O programa de Artes Visuais conta ainda com projetos especiais que valorizam as artes performáticas (Espaço Aberto) e o desenvolvimento de pesquisas curatoriais.
The BDMG Cultural Visual Arts program is linked to the origins of the Institute and has been renewed throughout the years in an increasingly wide and contemporary perspective.
The accomplished projects, exhibitions and contents in this area explore different artistic languages, support artists in the development of their researches and careers and stimulate a multidisciplinary thought as well as the problematization of questions related to art and contemporaneity.
By sharing our projects with the audience we also understand that art is knowledge, it has a creative and innovative feature and makes it possible to widen perspectives so the individual has a better understanding of the world.
Based on that we annually launch the open call “Mostras BDMB Cultural” – “BDMG Cultural Exhibitions” – artists or people living in Minas Gerais state are invited to send proposals on diverse artistic languages for showing their work at BDMG Cultural art gallery in Belo Horizonte. The exhibitions result in catalogues and educational actions that promote the dialog with the audience.
BDMG Cultural has built an eclectic but important artistic collection to help understand the course of the contemporary art of Minas Gerais by including the works of artists who have shown their work in the exhibitions all through the years. It is possible to see this collection on a virtual basis and get to know the artists, the languages and its materialities.
The Visual Arts program also includes special projects that value the performative arts (Open Space) and the development of curatorial researches.
